Make a Statement with a Stylish Entry

First impressions are so important. Your home makes a statement to guests as soon as they walk in the door. Make the right impression by creating an unforgettable look in your entry. The best foyers combine stylish elements and functional pieces. Furniture with drawers or hooks offers a place to store things and help keep your entry clutter free. Try one of these looks to make the most of your home’s entrance.

A geometric pattern on glass doors is high impact. Style it with a mix of books and quirky pieces to catch your guests’ attention. Flank a sleek mirror with a pair of lamps to fill the space on the wall and create visual interest.

Riverside

Keep the styling simple on a modern, rustic piece. This sideboard serves as the perfect piece in a home where neutrals reign. This look is all about organic textures. This piece is big enough to store winter scarves, hats, and gloves, but the light washed finish gives it an airy look.

A barn door style accent makes this a perfect piece for a rustic home. This cabinet has plenty of storage and style for days. Drawers serve as place to drop mail and keys so they’re never lost. Place a mirror on the wall above to do a last minute check as you walk out the door.

Hammary

Chippy white paint will add loads of character to your entry. This piece with hooks and a drawer will keep your family’s jackets, backpacks, and handbags at the ready and easy to grab as you walk out the door. The bench is an added bonus, as you can use it to put on or take off your shoes.

You won’t mind losing the storage in this piece. The look more than makes up for it. This piece has a major wow factor. Anchor it on a wall covered in a bold wallpaper to take it over the top. We’re loving the modern farmhouse vibe of this curvy two-toned table.

More ways to stay stylish and organize.

  • Add a pretty umbrella stand.
  • Use large decorative baskets for bigger items.
  • Hang decorative hooks on the wall.

Let your entry set the right tone for the rest of your home by making a statement. Use stylish pieces that help you stay organized, and your guests will be wowed from the moment they walk in the door.

Easy Fall Updates for the Home

Nothing inspires the need to freshen up your home decor quite like the change of seasons. With fall just a few weeks away, now is the time to go ahead and start making some changes in your home. It’s easy to make the transition with just a few key items. Get ready for fall by incorporating some saturated colors, plush textures, and warm metallics.

lanterns / pillow 1 / pillow 2 / chest / bedding / screen

  • Freshen up your fireplace with a new screen. This warm metallic finish in a modern geometric pattern will instantly update a room and get you ready for the fires you’ll be burning on those chilly fall nights.
  • No fireplace? Lighting candles adds a cozy feel to a room. Especially when the sun starts to set earlier and natural light is lost. These large lanterns feature leather straps which make them easy to carry from room to room.
  • If you don’t already have one, consider adding a cabinet or chest to your entry. Something with drawers and shelves will help keep your home organized since you’ll need a place to store gloves, hats, and scarves as temperatures drop. Plus you’ll have easy access to them as you go out the door.
  • Pillows and throws are always a good idea. As the weather gets cooler, add more pillows and plush throws to seating areas throughout the house. Try to incorporate rich colors such as shades of plum, chocolate, and orange.
  • Update your bedding with a heavy down comforter. Nothing makes a bed feel more luxurious than plush bedding. For an even cozier fall feel, layer it with a thick throw in cable knit or faux fur.

Updating your home for fall is about more than adding the right colors. It’s about making it a comfortable and cozy place for you and your family. There are so many ways to add style and function to your home for the new season. Meet with a designer in our showroom to find your perfect fall pieces.

Pretty Storage Pieces for the Bathroom

Bathroom storage is often limited to a closet and what you can fit inside the medicine cabinet. But honestly, is that ever really enough? Most people need more storage than what’s typically offered in a standard bathroom. Not to worry though. It’s easy to create more space for your things by simply adding a pretty piece of furniture. There’s a piece for your bathroom, no matter the size. These are a few of our favorites.

Riverside

This bookcase has sliding doors, which makes it very convenient, and adjustable shelves. A beautiful option in a cottage or coastal style bathroom, it’s the perfect place to stack towels and store toiletries. Use seagrass baskets or pretty bins to store things you want to keep out of sight.

A mix of metal and wood makes this cabinet a great choice in a space with an industrial or modern look. Once it’s fully stocked with toiletries and necessities, mix in one or two decorative items to give it a little personality.

This piece is perfect for a large bathroom in a home with high ceilings. This cabinet has presence and plenty of room to store everything you need. Items will be in full view in this cabinet, so be sure to display your prettiest things. Use decorative trays for your perfume and cologne bottles. Instead of folding towels, roll and stack them. Add a small vase of fresh flowers. Remember, everyday things can be stylish too.

Use an accent chest in a small bathroom. With all those drawers, you can store much more than just toiletries. This might also be a great place to keep jewelry.  Display a few things on top in a tray or style it with a cool pair of lamps. This piece is sleek and airy and would look great in a home with a modern farmhouse vibe.

If you have a bathroom that you just can’t get organized, then try adding a stylish and functional cabinet or chest. Here at EF Brannon we have options to work in any space no matter the size or style. Come by and let us help you find just what you’re looking for.

Must Haves for Every Home

Must Haves for Every Home

interior design Chattanooga

We live in a busy world. We are always on the go and working harder than ever. So when you come home you should be able to relax and enjoy it. Your home doesn’t have to be a spa for it to feel luxurious; it just needs a few key pieces. There are luxuries, big and small, that everyone should be able to enjoy at home.

A Plush Throw

When you sit down on the sofa after a long day a plush throw is so comforting. It’s perfect for a quick nap and easy to grab and wrap around yourself on a chilly night.  Whether neatly folded or tossed casually over the back of the sofa, a plush throw adds a cozy feel.

Pretty Barware

There’s just something about drinking from a nice wine glass or pouring a drink from a decanter. Even if you prefer iced tea or lemonade, sometimes you just want to feel fancy. Using nice barware feels just as good on pizza night as it does when entertaining guests. So be sure to keep some on hand even if you only break it out once in a while. It’s nice to have the option.

A Sturdy Tray

We just can’t say enough about how important it is to have a pretty and sturdy serving tray since it has so many uses. Such as having coffee in bed on a Saturday morning, carrying iced tea to the front porch on a hot summer night, using it for popcorn on movie night, or just being pretty on your coffee table. Even if you have only one, though we are all for having them throughout the house, be sure to use something that goes with everything, is a good size and has handles for easy transport.

A Comfy Chair

It may be in a bedroom, the living room or even the home office but every home needs at least one big comfy chair. This is the best way to create a cozy little reading nook. You don’t always want to sit on the sofa to read your latest page turner and you don’t necessarily want to lie in bed in the middle of the day. This is why a reading nook is so important. It’s a great place to relax and recharge your batteries. And remember that plush throw we were talking about earlier? You could probably use an extra one for this space.

Which of these luxuries is your home missing? Visit our showroom where we have luxuries for your home in every size and style.
